The 5th LEARN workshop on Research Data Management, “Shaping and aligning research data management policies”, is the last of five international workshops within the EU-funded project, LEARN (Leaders Activating Research Networks). It will take place at the University of Barcelona the 26th of January.
 
The morning session will be devoted to lectures by keynote speakers and the afternoon session will consist of three breakout groups, where best practices and case studies will be presented and discussed.

OpenAIRE has organised a long line of international workshops on topics surrounding Open Access and Open Science. This workshop will be on the topic of measuring Open Access and its impact. It will be organised in collaboration with CRIStin, and hosted by HiOA in Oslo - Norway on Tuesday the 14th of February 2017.

As research data management is increasingly seen as a vital component of high-quality research, academics are looking to their institutions to provide support for activities which they lack the skills and resource to deliver themselves. The responsibility of institutions to provide support is being reflected in research funder mandates more explicitly. Coupled with this is the recognition that well-managed, visible research outputs, including data, are an asset both to researchers and their institutions.

This course will introduce research managers to the concept of open research (including Open Access to publications and Open Data) and its implications for their work. The key requirements for Horizon 2020 projects will be discussed with particular focus on the implications to research of the expansion of the Open Data Pilot. An introduction to developing and reviewing DMPs will be provided and through practical exercises, participants will gain experience in working with real-world examples.

The 12th International Digital Curation Conference (IDCC17) will be held from 20-23 February 2017 at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (RCSEd). The conference brings together digital curation professionals and educators with data producers and consumers to consider digital curation in a multi-disciplinary context.

The Open Science Conference 2017 is the 4th international conference of the Leibniz Research Alliance Science 2.0. It is a continuation and development of the former Science 2.0 Conference. It is dedicated to the Open Science movement and provides a unique forum where researchers, librarians, practitioners, politicians, and other important stakeholders can discuss and exchange their ideas and experiences.
