In June 2018, FECYT launched the pilot project 'Infrastructures and Standards for Open Science' (INEOS) in collaboration with three public research organizations: the Higher Council for Scientific Research (CSIC), the Carlos III Health Institute (ISCIII) and the National Institute for Agricultural and Food Research and Technology (INIA).
The objective of this initiative is to interconnect the results of research financed with public funds with the data used in this research; to improve the quality of the existing data in the repositories and to increase the visibility of researchers by creating a public profile of their curriculum in different institutional applications.
To achieve this, FECYT is working on a metadata enrichment service, by expanding its collection tools and on the interconnection between CVN and RECOLECTA.
The results obtained with the INEOS pilot project will be reflected in new RECOLECTA functionalities and in a manual of good practices for Spanish universities and research centres.
