Certain universities in Spain already have Open Access policies and mandates.

  • Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona: has been a pioneer in the drafting of its mandate for the implementation of an Open Access policy by clearly specifying the steps to be followed and the type of material subjected to being deposited in an Open Access environment.
  • Universidad de Alcalá de Henares: the University already has its Open Access policy.
  • Universidad de Alicante: it began issuing recommendations to later mandates. The University of Alicante has also launched competitions for grants to encourage self-archiving of documents.
  • Universidad de Barcelona:  its Open Access policy proposes different procedures to promote the dissemination of scientific production in Open Access. It has adopted incentives to accomplish the mandate from January 1st, 2012.
  • Universidad de Cantabria: its Open Access policy for the access to academic, scientific and research output of UNICAN.
  • Universidad Complutense de Madrid: the University already has its Open Access policy.
  • Universidad de Lleida: its Open Access policy for the access, visibility, impact and preservation of research and academic output of the UdL in Internet.
  • Universidad de Girona: the University already has its Open Access policy.
  • Universidad de Vic: the University already has its Open Access policy.
  • Universidad de Zaragoza: its Governing Council agreed to develop an open access policy to knowledge. You can access to the agreement published in the Official Bulletin of the Universidad de Zaragoza. Besides, since May 16th, 2013, the Universidad de Zaragoza is part of the Berlin Declaration on Open Access to Knowledge in the Sciences and Humanities signatories.
  • Universitat Oberta de Catalunya: its Open Access policy involves all the community, taking into account researchers, professors and management staff, as well as the fact of considering the different types of documents generated within the university.
  • Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena: its Open Access policy for the access, visibility, impact and preservation of academic production of the UPCT in Internet.
  • Universidad Politécnica de Cataluña: its Open Access policy for the access, visibility, impact and preservation of academic production of the UPC in Internet.
  • Universidad Politécnica de Madrid: with its Open Access policy encourages the publication of academic and scientific documents from UPM professors and students, in its repository and in the digital collection. UPM promotes publishing on line with the aim of increase visibility, impact and recognition of the authors.
  • Universidad Politécnica de Valencia: its Open Access policy for the visibility of research output, innovation, training and transfer of the UPV.
  • Universidad Pompeu Fabra: the University already has its Open Access policy for its research output.
  • Universidad de Málaga: the University has its Open Access policy for its scientific production.
  • Universidad de Huelva: the University has its Open Access policy for its scientific production.
  • Universidad de Sevilla: the University has its Open Access policy for its scientific production.
  • Universidad de Burgos: the University has its Open Access policy for its scientific production.
  • Universidad de Extremadura:  the University has its Open Access policy for its scientific production.
  • Universidad de Granada: the University has its Open Access policy for its scientific production.
  • Universitat Rovira i Virgili: the University has its Open Access policy for its scientific production.
  • Universidad de Almería: the University has its Open Access policy for its scientific production.
