The ninth International Conference on Metadata and Semantics Research (MTSR'15) aims to bring together scholars and practitioners that share a common interest in the interdisciplinary field of metadata, semantics, linked data and ontologies. The conference will take place in Manchester Metropolitan University, on September 9-11, 2015.

The conference “Open Research Data: Implications for Science and Society” will provide a forum for a broad debate on all issues related to opening research data will take place in Warsaw, Poland, on May 28–29, 2015. It is organized by the Open Science Platform — an initiative of the Interdisciplinary Centre for Mathematical and Computational Modelling at the University of Warsaw.

The topics covered will include: 

The Confederation of Open Access Repositories (COAR) has published COAR Roadmap Future Directions for Repository Interoperability. This document is the culmination of over a year’s work to identify priority issues for repository interoperability.

Las VI Jornadas de OS-Repositorios se celebrará en la Universidad de Córdoba los días 11, 12 y 13 de marzo de 2015 coincidiendo con la convocatoria del XIV Workshop REBIUN sobre proyectos digitales, ya que la Línea estratégica 3 de REBIUN es la responsable de las jornadas anuales relacionadas con iniciativas tecnológicas y, además, dentro de esta Línea, está el Grupo de Trabajo de Repositorios de REBIUN, a quien se ha encomendado la coordinación de las jornadas de 2015.

RECODE is organizing its Final Project Conference on 15 and 16 January 2015 in Athens. The conference will contribute to the ongoing dialogue on open science and open access to research data by providing a forum for discussion that brings together an excellent line-up of international experts and key stakeholders. In the International Open Access Week 2014, DIGITAL.CSIC  organized a seminar about “New systems for scientific evaluation, peer review and open access” to discuss how ongoing transformations in scholarly communications and open access policies are redefining research assessment systems and impact indicators. It had as speakers from the funder (European Commission), publishing (BMC) and researcher communities (Open Scholar, CSIC researchers) to be able to have the fullest possible picture about the many issues at stake. 

14 April 2015 to 16 April 2015

The COAR-SPARC Conference on April 14 – 16, 2015 in Porto, Portugal, will be held in conjunction with the COAR Annual Meeting and General Assembly 2015. The meetings and conference will be hosted jointly by the University of Porto and the University of Minho. 

With regards to the programme, it will begin with a pre-conference day for the COAR General Assembly, as well as workshops and sessions for COAR and SPARC members only, followed by a 1,5 day conference open to all.

On the occasion of Open Access Week, COAR and other international associations are reaffirming their support for immediate open access to research results. 

The organizations committed to the principle that access to information advances discovery, accelerates innovation and improves education, endorse the policies and practices that enable Open Access – immediate, barrier free access to and reuse of scholarly articles.
